Kodiyathur Grama Panchayat is a beautiful inland rural area within the Thiruvambady assembly constituency in the eastern hilly region of Kozhikode district.

Kodiyathur is a complex of natural beauty filled with green hills and forests, lush rivers, streams, orchards, brooks, fields and meadows.

This beautiful land is complete when villages like Kodiyathur, Cheruvadi, Chullikkaparambu, Nellikkaparambu, Pannikode and Thottumukkam come together.

As a romantic achievement in the long journey of the Chaliyar, the main tributary river Iruvazhinjhi meets the Chaliyar at Cheruvadi. This confluence is the hallmark of Kodiyathur’s natural charm.

The wave of emigration from Kerala that began in the 1970s also led many from the younger generation of Kodiyathur Panchayat to seek opportunities in Qatar. The local associations formed by these expatriates have provided relief from the loneliness and emotional challenges of living away from their families. Associations representing different areas of Kodiyathur Panchayat—such as the Kodiyathur Area Service Forum, Cheruvadi Welfare Association Qatar, Nellikkaparamba Souhridha Vedhi, and Pannikode Area Forum—have brought about significant social change in the lives of the expatriate community.

The Kodiyathur Pain & Palliative Association – Qatar Chapter is the common platform of the Kodiyathur Grama Panchayat in Qatar. It is a large human service platform that unites all the local associations. This great movement works under one umbrella for hundreds of patients and the economically backward people by providing total support to the palliative activities in the country.
The 24-hour active Kodiyathur Palliative is the pride of the state; even foreigners have come to learn its model, which has raised the name and glory of Kodiyathur.

Kodiyathur has won many pages in the pages of history.
Kodiyathur witnessed the military campaign of Tipu Sultan, who fought with dedication against the British.

The last public meeting attended by the Kerala Lion Muhammad Abdur Rahman Sahib was held in Kodiyathur. He breathed his last while returning from the meeting in Kodiyathur.

The Malabar Khilafat Movement of 1921, the anti-British struggles of the Mappilas, and the clashes in Cheruvadi are all proud examples of the revolutionary history of this country.

The Thrikkalayur Mahadev Temple is an ancient structure dating back thousands of years, which stands as a great symbol of religious harmony; the attractive visual wonder and the ever-present spirit of peace are the cultural symbols of this village.

This land, made green by the Chaliyar and Iruvazhinjini, has proven itself to be an embodiment of human love, religious harmony and community.

Kodiyathur has gradually advanced as a challenge to other competitors in Qatar Sports Fests.
